Rob Lewis, Managing Director of Alpher explains: “After working for many years in the composting industry and witnessing the gradual rise in landfill tax, I felt it was time to offer a brand new concept in waste management.”
“Many businesses are not aware of the recycling options available to them and quite often unnecessarily send compostable waste to landfill. In addition, some may employ several waste management agencies to recycle different types of waste, which can often prove to be costly. Being ‘green’ has never been so prominent in the media and public domain too. As a result, local authorities and businesses are under increasing pressure to prove they are operating with care for the environment when it comes to the disposal of their waste.”
“We aim to help our clients save money by reducing their expenditure on landfill tax and improve their ‘green’ credentials by extracting as much of their waste as possible for composting. We also offer a single supplier solution, so our clients do not need to employ several recycling companies at the same time. Our service is completely transparent – so our customers know exactly what happens to their waste from the moment it leaves their factory to re-use, so they can communicate their recycling efforts to stakeholders.”
Aside from collecting waste, Alpher also offers a bespoke on-site assessment service to help its clients separate waste efficiently.
Alpher collects a wide range of waste types including general public waste, all grades of wood waste, mineral waste, food waste and textiles waste. If Alpher collects any waste that is not suitable for its operation, it will pass it onto a nationwide partner for recycling. Alpher’s clients include large factories, local authorities and waste management companies.
